I have been practicing with Second Life and have been able to join a couple of educational groups within SL which has helped immeasureably. If you are inworld, email me and we can exchange SL names.
I am now going to begin my research for the workshop I am teaching in April on Transitions to College. My co-speakers are Dr. David V. Loertscher, school media guru from SJSU, and my English Department Chair, Mr. Chris Plaia. We will be addressing the millennial generation that we teach, using collaboration to set up our seniors for success in college, and my partnerships with K-8 and higher ed librarians to ensure ongoing information literacy instruction.
I have been letting my PLN work for me and have made fairly amazing contacts in interesting places. It is definitely worthwhile!
I will be purchasing a coursesite from Blackboard and integrating Wimba to start a library info lit course through my English department.
